Outdated Social Media Strategies
- Posting multiple times a day on all platforms unless it’s on your Instagram stories. Thats the only exception. (NOTE) Facebook and Instagram used to reward us for posting a lot. The more we posted the more we were seen. They realized how addictive we were with posting a lot and getting seen and they decided to take that away. So now we have to pay them to be seen. In other words, we have to pay to play now.
- Follow for follow (NOTE) Now you’re only allowed to follow 7,500 people. So if you’re posting and you want people to follow you back, you’d have to post something that makes you followable. Just posting up your music won’t make people save, share it nor make them follow you. If you want your posts showing up, Instagram is looking for how many people are saving it & how many people are sharing it. You have a better shot following your engaged audience rather than doing the follow for follow thing.
- Using a bunch of hashtags (NOTE) Hashtags can be very dangerous. Imagine working so hard getting people over to page then sending them away from your page. You are not going to be the first post under those hashtags. So many other artists will be there first. Specially under the hashtags that are in the millions. It’s ok to have a lot of hashtags in the comment section but not in your description.
- Buying false engagement (NOTE) Don’t buy fake followers and likes. It can cause damage to your image or brand. Makes you look like your not trustworthy. If you don’t have trust then you have nothing. Engagement is not fake generated emojis in the comment section. Usually real engagement is comments that has relevance to the post. Don’t buy anything fake and protect your brand.
